15. READ: EPHESIANS 5:22-32
a. What is Christ the head of?
Answer: Christ is the head of the church, (verse 23).
Matthew 16:15-18: "'But what about you?' He [Jesus] asked. 'Who do you say I am?' Simon Peter answered, 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.' Jesus replied, 'Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man, but by My Father in heaven. And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it.'"
Ephesians 1:22: "And God placed all things under His feet and appointed Him to be HEAD OVER EVERYTHING FOR THE CHURCH..."
Ephesians 4:15: "Instead, speaking the Truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him WHO IS THE HEAD, that is, CHRIST."
Colossians 1:18-20: "And HE [Christ] IS THE HEAD OF TH BODY, THE CHURCH; He is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything He might have the supremacy. For God was pleased to have all His fullness dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through His blood, shed on the cross."
