Answer: No. Christ is not divided, (verse
13).
MORE INFORMATION AND/OR OTHER SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:
Paul asks three rhetorical questions: "Is Christ
divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized
into the name of Paul?" The very obvious implication is
that Christ is NOT divided, no one but Christ was crucified for us,
and we are to be baptized only into the Name of the Father, the Son
and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19):
Romans 16:17-18: "I urge you,
brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put
obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have
learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our
Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery
they deceive the minds of naive people."
1 Corinthians 12:12-13: "The body
is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and though all its
parts are many, they form one body. So it is with Christ. For
we were all baptized by One Spirit into one body--whether Jews
or Greeks, slave or free--and we were all given the One Spirit
to drink."
Jude 17-21: "But, dear friends,
remember what the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ foretold. They
said to you, 'In the last times there will be scoffers who
will follow their own ungodly desires.' These are the
men who divide you, who follow mere natural instincts and do not
have the Spirit. But you, dear friends, build yourselves up
in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit. Keep
yourselves in God's love as you wait for the mercy of our Lord
Jesus Christ to bring you to eternal life."
