10. READ: ACTS 8:26-40
d. What did Philip continue to do?
Answer: Philip continued preaching the Gospel, (verse 40).
When Philip had baptized the eunuch, and they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord suddenly took Philip away, and he appeared at Azotus (a seacoast town) and traveled northward, preaching in cities along the way (e.g., Lydda and Joppa) until he reached Caesarea. Philip was constantly preaching the Gospel--spreading the Good News of Christ. Caesarea may have been Philip's home. When we read about him again in Acts 21:8, he is in that city.
Acts 21:8-9: "Leaving the next day, we reached Caesarea and stayed at the house of Philip the evangelist, one of the Seven. He had four unmarried daughters who prophesied."
Notice that in the above verses, Philip is still "Philip the EVANGELIST." He is still preaching the Gospel--the Good News of Jesus Christ.
