Some versions of the Bible state that Jesus said, "All
POWER is given unto Me...." The Greek does
not have dynamis, "power," but exousia,
"authority."
Daniel 7:13-24: "In my
[Daniel's] vision at night I looked, and there before me was
one like a Son of Man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He
approached the Ancient of Days and was led into His presence.
He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all peoples,
nations and men of every language worshiped Him. His dominion is an
everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and His kingdom is
one that will never be destroyed."
Luke 10:22: [Jesus said,] "All
things have been committed to Me by My Father. No one knows who the
Son is except the Father, and no one knows who the Father is except
the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal
Him."
John 3:35: [Jesus said,] "The
Father loves the Son and has placed everything in His
hands."
John 5:26-27: [Jesus said,] "For as
the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have
life in Himself. And He has given Him authority to judge
because He is the Son of Man."
John 10:17-18: [Jesus said,] "The
reason My Father loves Me is that I lay down My life--only to
take it up again. No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down
of My Own accord. I have authority to lay it down and authority to
take it up again. This command I received from My
Father."
John 13:13: [Jesus said,] "You call
Me 'Teacher' and 'Lord,' and rightly so,
for that is what I am."
John 17:1-2: "After Jesus said
this, He looked toward heaven and prayed: 'Father, the
time has come. Glorify Your Son, that Your Son may glorify
You. For You granted Him authority over all people that He
might give eternal life to all those You have given
Him.'"
1 Corinthians 15:21-28: "For since
death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also
through a Man. For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all will
be made alive. But each in his own turn: Christ, the
firstfruits; then, when He comes, those who belong to Him.
Then the end will come, when He hands over the kingdom to God the
Father after He has destroyed all dominion, authority and
power. For He must reign until He has put all His enemies
under His feet. The last enemy to be destroyed is
death. For He 'has put everything under His
feet.' Now when it says that 'everything' has
been put under Him, it is clear that this does not include God
Himself, Who put everything under Christ. When He has done
this, then the Son Himself will be made subject to Him Who put
everything under Him, so that God may be all in all."
Ephesians 1:18-23: "I pray also
that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you
may know the hope to which He [God] has called you, the riches of
His glorious inheritance in the saints, and His incomparably great
power for us who believe. That power is like the working of His
mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from
the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms,
far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every
title that can be given, not only in the present age but also in
the one to come. And God placed all things under His feet and
appointed Him to be head over everything for the church, which is
His body, the fullness of Him Who fills everything in every
way."
Philippians 2:9-11: "Therefore God
exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the Name that is
above every name, that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the
Father."
Colossians 2:9-10: "For in Christ
all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, and you have
been given fullness in Christ, Who is the head over every power and
authority."
Jude 1:24: "To Him Who is able to
keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious
presence without fault and with great joy--to the Only God our
Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ
our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore!
Amen."
