MORE INFORMATION AND/OR OTHER SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:
During the period of time immediately following
Christ's ascension the believers met continually at the
temple, where many rooms were available for meetings:
Acts 2:46-47: "Every day they
continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread
in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts,
praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord
added to their number daily those who were being
saved."
Acts 5:41-42: "The apostles left
the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of
suffering disgrace for the Name. Day after day, in the temple
courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and
proclaiming the Good News that Jesus is the Christ."
