Answer: On the day Christ comes, God will give relief
to those who are troubled (the saints), (verse 7). He will be
glorified in His holy people and marveled at among all those who
have believed, (verse 10). He will be glorified in us, and we
will be glorified in Him, (verse 12).

Concerning the phrase "glorified IN His holy
people:" "In," (Greek
"en")is not here "by' or
"among,' but [is], as in John 17:10,
"I am glorified IN them,' and Galatians
1:24, "they glorified God IN Me,' While
the glory of His might destroys the wicked, the glory of His grace
is exhibited IN His saints, (Ephesians 1:6;
Acts 15:11), and IN their manifest likeness to
Himself, Romans 8:19, 29; Philippians
3:21; 1 John 3:2; 1 Peter
1:7" (Vine). Christ's glory is seen IN
what we are, holy people:
John 17:6-10: [Jesus prayed,] "I
have revealed You to those whom You gave Me out of the world. They
were Yours; You gave them to Me and they have obeyed Your
Word. Now they know that everything You have given Me comes
from You. For I gave them the Words You gave Me and they
accepted them. They knew with certainty that I came from You, and
they believed that You sent Me. I pray for them. I am not
praying for the world, but for those You have given Me, for they
are Yours. All I have is Yours, and all You have is Mine. AND
GLORY HAS COME TO ME THROUGH THEM."
Romans 8:17, 19, 29-30: "Now if we
are children, then we are heirs--heirs of God and co-heirs
with Christ, if indeed we share in His sufferings IN ORDER THAT WE
MAY ALSO SHARE IN HIS GLORY...The creation waits in eager
expectation for the sons of God to be revealed...For those God
foreknew He also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of His
Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brothers. And
those He predestined, He also called; those He called, He also
justified; those He justified, HE ALSO GLORIFIED."
2 Corinthians 4:4-6: "The god of
this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot
see THE LIGHT OF THE GOSPEL OF THE GLORY OF CHRIST, Who is the
image of God. For we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus
Christ as Lord, and ourselves as your servants for Jesus'
sake. For God, Who said, 'Let light shine out of
darkness,' made His light shine in our hearts to give us the
light of the knowledge OF THE GLORY OF GOD IN THE FACE OF
CHRIST."
Ephesians 1:4-6, 11-12: "For He
chose us in Him before the creation of the world to be holy and
blameless in His sight. In love He predestined us to be adopted as
His sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with His pleasure and
Will--TO THE PRAISE OF HIS GLORIOUS GRACE, WHICH HE HAS FREELY
GIVEN US IN THE ONE HE LOVES...In Him we were also chosen,
having been predestined according to the plan of Him Who works out
everything in conformity with the purpose of His Will, in order
that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, MIGHT BE FOR THE
PRAISE OF HIS GLORY."
Ephesians 3:20-21: "Now to Him Who
is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine,
according to His power that is at work within us, TO HIM BE GLORY
IN THE CHURCH AND IN CHRIST JESUS throughout all generations, for
ever and ever! Amen."
Philippians 1:9-11: "And this is my
prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and
depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what is best
and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ, filled with
the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ--TO
THE GLORY AND PRAISE OF GOD."
Philippians 2:9-11: "Therefore God
exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the Name that is
above every name, that at the Name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue
confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, TO THE GLORY OF GOD THE
FATHER."
Philippians 3:20-21: "But our
citizenship is in heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there,
the Lord Jesus Christ, Who, by the power that enables Him to bring
everything under His control, will transform our lowly bodies SO
THAT THEY WILL BE LIKE HIS GLORIOUS BODY."
Colossians 1:27: "To them God has
chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this
mystery, WHICH IS CHRIST IN YOU, THE HOPE OF GLORY."
Colossians 3:4: "When Christ, Who
is your life, appears, THEN YOU ALSO WILL APPEAR WITH HIM IN
GLORY."
2 Timothy 2:10-12a: "Therefore I
endure everything for the sake of the elect, THAT THEY TOO MAY
OBTAIN THE SALVATION THAT IS IN CHRIST JESUS, WITH ETERNAL
GLORY. Here is a trustworthy saying: If we died with
Him, we will also live with Him; if we endure, we will also reign
with Him."
1 Peter 1:3-9: "Praise be to the
God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In His great mercy He has
given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of
Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never
perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for you, who through
faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation
that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In this you
greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to
suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that
your faith--of greater worth than gold, which perishes even
though refined by fire--may be proved genuine AND MAY RESULT
IN PRAISE, GLORY AND HONOR WHEN JESUS CHRIST IS REVEALED.
Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; and even though you do
not see Him now, you believe in Him and are filled with an
inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the goal of
your faith, the salvation of your souls."
1 Peter 4:13-14: "But rejoice that
you participate in the sufferings of Christ, SO THAT YOU MAY BE
OVERJOYED WHEN HIS GLORY IS REVEALED. If you are insulted
because of the Name of Christ, you are blessed, FOR THE SPIRIT OF
GLORY AND OF GOD RESTS ON YOU."
1 Peter 5:8-11: "Be self-controlled
and alert. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion
looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in
the faith, because you know that your brothers throughout the world
are undergoing the same kind of sufferings. And the God of
all grace, WHO CALLED YOU TO HIS ETERNAL GLORY IN CHRIST, after you
have suffered a little while, will Himself restore you and make you
strong, firm and steadfast. To Him be the power for ever and
ever. Amen."
2 Peter 3:17-18: "Therefore, dear
friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you
may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from
your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of
our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. TO HIM BE GLORY BOTH NOW AND
FOREVER! Amen."
Jude 1:24: "To Him Who is able to
keep you from falling and TO PRESENT YOU BEFORE HIS GLORIOUS
PRESENCE WITHOUT FAULT AND WITH GREAT JOY--to the Only God our
Savior be GLORY, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ
our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore!
Amen."
