Answer: The disciples picked up twelve basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over, (verse 20).

• What God gives is ALWAYS in abundance--overflowing our requests, expectations or imaginings--both in physical and spiritual blessings:

  Job 6:31: "This is the way He governs the nations and provides food in abundance."

• God does require that we do our part in the receiving and giving of the abundance He blesses us with:

  Luke 6:38: [Jesus said,] "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you."

  2 Peter 1:2: "Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord."
