Answer: Jesus wants every person in every nation to be taught about Him through the Word of God. Jesus wants those who are already His disciples, or followers, to go and teach all people in all nations, baptize those who believe in Him in the Name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and then continue to teach them to obey everything He has commanded, (verses 19 and 20).

Concerning the commands to "make disciples of all nations, baptizing them... and teaching them...":
Isaiah 49:6: "He says: ‘It is too small a thing for you to be My servant to restore the tribes of Jacob and bring back those of Israel I have kept. I will also make you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring My salvation to the ends of the earth.'"
