Answer: Jesus explained that His teaching did not come from Himself. He told the Jews that His teaching came from the One Who had sent Him. Jesus further stated that anyone who chooses to do the Will of God will find out whether His teaching came from God, or whether He was speaking on His Own. The test of this would be: Was Jesus speaking on His Own to bring honor to Himself, or was He working for the honor of the One Who sent Him? If Jesus was working for the honor of God, then He truly was a man of Truth. There would be nothing false in the teachings of Jesus, and there would be nothing false in the reason He taught, (verses 16, 17 and 18).
