a. What should rule in our hearts?
Answer: The peace of Christ should rule in a Christian's heart. All the members of the one body, Christ's church, were called to peace, (verse 15).
John 14:27: [Jesus said,] "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
Romans 14:19: "Let us therefore make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual edification."
1 Timothy 2:1-4: "I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone--for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior, Who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the Truth."
Ephesians 4:31: "Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you."
James 1:21: "Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the Word planted in you, which can save you."
