Answer: If the children of God DO these things (possess the qualities listed in verses 5 through 7, and grow more and more mature as we actively increase our ability to DO what these qualities signify), then we will never fall, AND we will receive a rich welcome into the eternal kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, (verses 10 and 11).

The believer who DOES God's Will, who grows in these qualities, who demonstrates them in his/her life, has the assurance of never falling:
Psalm 15:2-5: "He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the Truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman, who despises a vile man but honors those who fear the Lord, who keeps his oath even when it hurts, who lends his money without usury and does not accept a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken."
2 Peter 3:17-18 shows that we must be on our guard and grow in the grace and knowledge of Christ so that we might not fall from our secure position in Christ:
"Therefore, dear friends, since you already know this, be on your guard so that you may not be carried away by the error of lawless men and fall from your secure position. But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and forever! Amen."
Jude, verse 24 tells us there is only One who can keep us from falling, and we had better be growing and producing IN Him, or He will cut us off from Him:
"To Him Who is able to keep you from falling and to present you before His glorious presence without fault and with great joy--to the only God our Savior be glory, majesty, power and authority, through Jesus Christ our Lord, before all ages, now and forevermore! Amen."
Psalms 145:13 assures us that the everlasting kingdom awaits those who continue in their growth and maturity in Christ. The everlasting kingdom is promised and will be given to His faithful children:
"Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures through all generations. The Lord is faithful to all His promises and loving toward all He has made."
And 2 Timothy 4:18 says, "The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory for ever and ever. Amen."
