Answer: Believer's are to always be growing in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, (verse 18).

Romans 3:23-24 says that this grace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is the grace that God gives obedient believers and by which they are justified (made right in the eyes of God): "for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus."
In 2 Peter 1:2, we see that grace and peace come to believers through the knowledge of God and the knowledge of Jesus our Lord: "Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord."
