How do we learn from Jesus?
John 6:67-69: "‘You do not want to leave too, do you?' Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered Him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the Words of eternal life. We believe and know that You are the Holy One of God.'"
John 12:47-50: [Jesus said,] "As for the person who hears My Words but does not keep them, I do not judge him. For I did not come to judge the world, but to save it. There is a judge for the one who rejects Me and does not accept My Words; that very Word which I spoke will condemn him at the last day. For I did not speak of My Own accord, but the Father Who sent Me commanded Me what to say and how to say it. I know that His command leads to eternal life. So whatever I say is just what the Father has told Me to say."
John 13:15: [Jesus said] "I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you."
John 14:23-26: "Jesus replied, ‘If anyone loves Me, he will obey My teaching. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. He who does not love Me will not obey My teaching. These Words you hear are not My Own; they belong to the Father Who sent Me. All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My Name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.'"
John 17:16-18: "Jesus answered, ‘My teaching is not My Own. It comes from Him Who sent Me. If anyone chooses to do God's Will, he will find out whether My teaching comes from God or whether I speak on My Own. He who speaks on his own does so to gain honor for himself, but He Who works for the honor of the One Who sent Him is a man of Truth; there is nothing false about Him.'"
John 20:30-31and John 21:25: "Jesus did many other miraculous signs in the presence of His disciples, which are not recorded in this book. But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His Name... Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written."
Acts 2:41-42: "Those who accepted his [Peter's] message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer."
Ephesians 4:20-24: "You, however, did not come to know Christ that way. Surely you heard of Him and were taught in Him in accordance with the Truth that is in Jesus. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."
Philippians 2:5: "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus."
Colossians 2:6-8: "So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness. See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the basic principles of this world rather than on Christ."
2 Timothy 3:14-17: "But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have become convinced of, because you know those from whom you learned it, and how from infancy you have known the holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."
1 Peter 2:21: "To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in His steps."
2 Peter 1:19-21 and 2 Peter 3:2: "And we have the word of the prophets made more certain, and you will do well to pay attention to it, as to a light shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts. Above all, you must understand that no prophecy of Scripture came about by the prophet's own interpretation. For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit... I want you to recall the words spoken in the past by the holy prophets and the command given by our Lord and Savior through your apostles."
1 John 2:3-6: "We know that we have come to know Him [Jesus] if we obey His commands. The man who says, ‘I know Him,' but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the Truth is not in him. But if anyone obeys His Word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in Him: Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did."
