PART III--The Way Of Serving God In Christ Jesus

D. Lesson 16--We Serve By Being Holy

    11. READ: 1 JOHN 2:15-17

      c. Who lives forever?

Answer: The man who does the Will of God lives forever, (verse 17).

MORE INFORMATION AND/OR OTHER SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:

Psalm 40:8: "I desire to do Your Will, O my God; Your law is within my heart."

Psalm 119:144: "Your statutes are forever right; give me understanding that I may live."

Psalm 143:10: "Teach me to do Your Will, for You are my God; may Your good Spirit lead me on level ground."

Matthew 7:21: [Jesus said,] "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the Will of My Father Who is in heaven."

Matthew 12:50: [Jesus said,] "For whoever does the Will of My Father in heaven is My brother and sister and mother."

Jesus IS the Will of the Father. John 6:51, 53-58: [Jesus said,] "I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world..."

"Jesus said to them, ‘I tell you the Truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is real food and My blood is real drink. Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood remains in Me, and I in him. Just as the living Father sent Me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on Me will live because of Me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever.'"

Romans 12:2: "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's Will is--His good, pleasing and perfect Will."
