By loving and serving one another, we wear the signature of Christ--we are His epistles (letters) to the world that we ARE HIS followers (2 Corinthians 3:2-3).
In John 13:34-35 Jesus said, "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another."
This kind of love is the binding of all that we do into complete unity--a sort of belt that holds our holy clothing together on us. Colossians 3:12-14: "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."
