a. In whom must we continue to live?

Answer: Children of God must continue to live in Christ Jesus, just as we received Him as Lord, (verse 6).

In John 13:13, Jesus says, "You call Me ‘Teacher' and ‘Lord,' and rightly so, for that is what I am."

To continue to live in Christ Jesus is to continue in His teaching. We received Jesus through faith in the Word that we heard. We continue in that Word to live a life in step with His teachings:

2 John 1:9: "Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son."
