Answer: The wrath of God is coming because of the "earthly nature," (verse 5).

The "earthly nature" is also called the "sinful nature" and "the flesh." God's wrath is coming against sin, and against those who live in sin. The "earthly nature" includes: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desires and greed (which is idolatry), anger, rage, malice, slander, filthy language, and lying, (verses 5, 8 and 9).
Galatians 5:24: "Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the sinful nature with its passions and desires."
