Answer: As God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved by God, we should clothe ourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience, (verse 12). This will cause us to bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances we may have against one another--forgiving as the Lord forgave us, (verse 13). Over all of these virtues we should be clothed in, we are to put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity, (verse 14). This is the "new self," which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator, Christ, (verse 10).
