1. READ: LUKE 10:25-28
b. How must we love the Lord our God?
Answer: We must love the Lord our God with all of our heart and with all of our soul and with all of our strength and with all of our mind, (verse 27).
God demands total devotion in our heart and in our soul with our full strength and with the knowledge of Him filling our mind. This total devotion to God affects every part of a believer's life.
The lawyer quoted from the Old Testament when he answered Jesus' questions, "What is written in the Law? How do you read it?" In Deuteronomy 6:4-9, God says, "Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is One. Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates."
And in Leviticus 19:18, God says, "Do not seek revenge or bear a grudge against one of your people, but love your neighbor as yourself. I am the Lord."
