Part II--The Process Of Reconciliation With God

F. Lesson 12--We Must Be Faithful In Serving The Lord

    7. READ: EPHESIANS 5:1-10

      c. Whom is God's wrath coming on?

Answer: God's wrath is coming on those who are disobedient. Therefore, we are not to be partners with them because they deceive with empty words, (verses 6 and 7).

MORE INFORMATION AND/OR OTHER SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:

      • In Mark 13:5, Jesus Himself warns us to watch out that no one deceives us.
      • Of God's wrath on the disobedient:
        • Romans 1:18: "The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of men who suppress the Truth by their wickedness..."

      • Satan's spirit is at work in those who are disobedient, and they are objects of God's wrath. We were once like that, but now cannot be partners with, or participators in, the sinful lifestyle of unbelievers.
        • Ephesians 2:1-5: "As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. But because of His great love for us, God, Who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions--it is by grace you have been saved."
