Part II--The Process Of Reconciliation With God

C. Lesson 9--We Must Turn Away From Sinful Behavior

    11. READ: 1 CORINTHIANS 6:9-10

      a. Who will NOT inherit the kingdom of God?

Answer: The wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God, (verse 9).

MORE INFORMATION AND/OR OTHER SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:

The list of the wicked is probably endless. Anything that the mind of man can conceive that is abhorrent to God makes that man wicked in the eyes of God, and He will not let the wicked inherit His kingdom. Verse 10 lists some of these wicked people. They are: Sexually immoral people, idolaters, adulterers, male prostitutes, homosexual offenders, thieves, greedy people, drunkards, slanderers, and swindlers.

Romans 1:18-32 lists many more of these wicked people who will not inherit God's kingdom. They are: Those who suppress the Truth by their wickedness, those who do not glorify God as God, those who do not give thanks to God, those whose thinking is futile, those whose foolish hearts are darkened, those who exchange the glory of the immortal God for images, or idols, those who are sexually impure and degrade their bodies with one another, those who exchange the Truth of God for a lie, those who worship and serve created things rather than the Creator, women who exchange natural relations for unnatural ones, men who abandon natural relations with women and are inflamed with lust for one another, committing indecent acts with other men, those who do not retain the knowledge of God, those who are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice, those who are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful, those who invent ways to do evil, those who disobey their parents, those who are senseless, faithless, heartless and ruthless, and those who not only do all of these things, but give their approval of other people who practice these things.

No, these wicked people will not inherit the kingdom of God. And what does Jesus say will happen to the wicked? Matthew 13:49-50: "This is how it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come and separate the wicked from the righteous and throw them into the fiery furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
