MORE INFORMATION AND/OR OTHER SCRIPTURE REFERENCES:
- Mark 8:38: [Jesus said,] "If anyone is ashamed of Me and My Words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when He comes in His Father's glory with the holy angels."
- Through Christ, Christians may be pure and blameless in a corrupt generation:
Philippians 2:14-16a: "Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe as you hold out the Word of Life..."
- And what is a corrupt generation? They are those whose hearts are not faithful to God and who do not know His Ways:
Hebrews 3:10-11: [God said,] "That is why I was angry with that generation, and I said, ‘Their hearts are always going astray, and they have not known My Ways.' So I declared on oath in My anger, ‘They shall never enter My rest.'"
- NOTE: The word "repent" means "a change of MIND and HEART that LEADS to the ACTION of changing one's LIFE ". (See "Repent / Repentance" in the Scripture Glossary Links.)
