A Brief Biography
Of H. W. (Dub) McClish
(As of March, 2004)

H. W. (Dub) McClish is a native Texan, son of a Gospel preacher, son-in-law of a Gospel preacher, father of a Gospel preacher, and grandson of an elder. He and his wife, Lavonne, a native Tennessean, have three children, seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Brother McClish attended high schools at Burnet, Texas, and Boise, Idaho, and completed a three-year Bible major at Freed-Hardeman College in Henderson, Tennessee. He received a B.A. from Abilene Christian College in 1959.

He has preached in the local congregations in 5 states, including New Mexico. Brother McClish has done evangelistic work in 22 states and in 10 foreign countries.

He has been a speaker on most major congregational / preaching school lectureships and on several college lectureships. He has spoken several times at the Annual Asian Bible Lectures in Singapore and Malaysia, and at the Annual Manila, Philippines Lectures. His numerous articles have appeared in various publications, including Christian Worker, Contending for the Faith, Firm Foundation, Gospel Advocate, The Restorer, Shield of Faith, The Spiritual Sword, Words of Truth, Power, The Defender, and others. Brother McClish has contributed one or more chapters to more than 150 books. He was the Director of all ANNUAL DENTON LECTURES and its successor, the SCHERTZ LECTURES. He serves on the Board of Directors, Four Seas Bible College, Singapore and as Editor of The Gospel Journal.

After 35 years of work as a local preacher, he began a new work under the oversight of the Pearl Street elders in 1992, devoting all of his time to the combined works of preaching in Gospel meetings, mission trips, and lectureships and in writing, editing, and publishing sound Biblical materials. He began serving under the oversight of the elders at Roanoke, Texas, church of Christ, in May, 2003.
